Today, Beetroot

Since I have been focusing more on mindfulness, self-love, self-care and awareness, I have in turn been contributing to my bodymind. Acts as simple as crossing the road to walk in the sunlight are making my mind and body feel better as a whole. I love it, you just listen to your little impulses and your big impulses and if they are suitable, you do it.

So today I had a funny craving for beetroot juice.

I don’t even like beetroot juice that much at all, but when I have cravings I usually try to listen to them. My body knows what it wants better than I think I do. You know? Sometimes I just really want mushrooms. But today, Beetroot.

So do you know what I did? I went and got myself some Beetroot juice.

Voila!

Cherryberry and Beetroot juice to be precise.

And a Nakd bar because I could not resist.

But anyway, here’s the thing. I really needed it. And I liked it.

By the way, beet juice benefits are very powerful. I’ll put some below. And, you only need a little bit of juice to get the benefits. So after I’ve listed some of these benefits, you do not need to go out and drink one liter a day ok?

Beetroot contains Betalain.

Let me just talk about Betalain.

This betalain is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, and, there is research that indicates that betalain may exhibit anti-cancer activity. Betalain really is some snazzy jazzy stuff.

Beetroot are also high in:ย Folic acid, manganese, vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, copper, magnesium, sulfur… The list goes on.

Which in turn, helps to heal: anemia, liver skin, kidneys, lymphatic circulation, tiredness, eye/liver/skin problems, cancer. It also might kill fungi.

I encourage you all to listen to your bodies. The recommendations on nutrition, from a little chocolate to strawberries to some chicken or even… beetroot, are usually entirely rational and are probably fairly important.ย

Often we connect the mind to the body, and the body to the mind in exercise, and in hunger and thirst. But when we are hungry for something with seemingly no reason it is often ignored.

Don’t ignore anything! There could be a large reason. There could be a tiny reason.

Just listen to your bodymind. If suitable, do it.

Today, Beetroot.

    1. I think once your body is used to a certain way of living that is what it will choose to crave from, I’ve never had a craving for something I’ve never had. As soon as you change your diet and keep trying new things your body should catch up with that and change too. We all crave a little sugar now and again though, and it isn’t awful at all to treat yourself to a little amount ๐Ÿ˜Š

      1. Do you think those are the times when you’re craving something, but you don’t know what? You go through the fridge/cupboards and nothing sounds good? A craving for something you haven’t had?

      2. Perhaps, I’m not sure. That’s an interesting thought! I find that for me that happens a lot when really there’s an underlying problem. For example being tired, sometimes we feel hungry when really we should sleep, our body is just requesting food to try and stay awake. Or thirst, our brains cam confuse hunger with thirst, so when you’re clueless just have a drink of water and that might just sort it. Or sometimes it’s just boredom, it’s our body pretty much saying ‘can we please do something more exciting honestly I don’t know why I’m functioning right now’ :’) But nobody knows, it’s not really been investigated, and if it has I haven’t heard of the results. We’re all different, and so your body is probably totally different to mine, you just have to try and tune in to its weird rhythm ๐Ÿ˜Š
